Happy Birthday Grand Central!
On this day in 1913…
107 years ago on February 2nd, Grand Central Terminal opened for business – which means this Sunday is our birthday! Train buffs, architectural junkies, and history fans are invited to help us celebrate:
- First come, first served: exclusive and free access to Grand Central’s secret Williamson Library by way of the window-spanning catwalks to view historic films and valuable artifacts spanning Grand Central’s 107 years, presented by New York Railroad enthusiasts. The catwalk and Library are typically off limits to the public, so we’re thrilled to share this opportunity! Preregistration on Facebook by Wednesday 1/29 at 5pm is required; please see the 3 links below for availability.
- Guided tours, normally $30, are $19.13 today only: 12:30pm and 2pm (book ahead here).
Also, check Instagram stories on @grandcentralnyc all week long for GCT historical facts!
